How to Enroll in the CCPM Certification Program

General Requirements:

Individuals seeking certification from CCPM must meet certain requirements. Applicants for Membership must hold a suitable graduate degree, and must meet a minimum requirement of two years for patient-related work experience. 

Membership Criteria 

Educational Background:

Hold a graduate degree in Medical Physics, Physics, Science with Physics as a major, or another acceptable field. (Exceptionally, a B.Sc. may be considered.)

Experience:

Two years of patient-related experience in the last five years, not during pursuit of a graduate degree.
Relevant activities include designing, developing, purchasing, commissioning, calibrating, and using medical equipment for patient diagnosis and treatment.

Approval:
 

Two years of patient-related experience in the last five years, not during pursuit of a graduate degree.

 Radiation Oncology Physics Certification

Updated Criteria (2016):

Must meet CAMPEP accreditation for graduate and training programs. Review Regulation D.2.7 for details.

International Applicants:

Can qualify through a bridging program detailed in Section G of the Regulations.

Canadian
Context

Candidates must fulfill at least
one of the following:

  • Be a Canadian citizen.
  • Reside in Canada.
  • Hold a Canadian university degree.
  • Complete a medical physics residency in Canada.
  • Have a confirmed job offer in Canada.

Referees 
 

Letters of Reference required:

Medical Physicists:

One must be CCPM, ABR, ABMP certified, or approved by CCPM Board.

One from a Board-Certified Physician.

All three referees must have worked with the candidate within the last five years and be familiar with their clinical experience.

Step 5: Certification Exam

If your application is approved:

  • Take the Exam:
    On the scheduled date, complete the certification exam.

Certification Awarded
