Maintaining Certification

Per the CCPM Regulations and College Bylaws, CCPM certification is contingent upon maintaining COMP membership in good standing. This page explains how COMP membership affects CCPM certification, including renewal, inactivity, reinstatement, and retirement.

Annual Membership Timeline

COMP membership is valid January 1 – December 31 each year.

Period Dates CCPM Certification Status Member Action(s) Required
Renewal Period December 1 – April 30 Active Renew or purchase COMP membership for the upcoming membership year.
Grace Period May 1 – June 30 Active Members who have not yet renewed or purchased a COMP membership, this is your final opportunity to do so before being marked as inactive.
Inactive July 1 Inactive Members who have not renewed their COMP membership are deemed inactive and removed from the CCPM Registry of Clinically Certified Medical Physicists.
After One (1) Full COMP Membership Cycle* Lapsed Membership – Reinstatement Required Members who remain inactive for one (1) or more full membership cycles without notifying the College may be required to complete the Membership certification process again.

*A full COMP membership cycle means one complete membership year in which the individual did not hold COMP membership. For example, a member who held COMP membership in 2024, did not hold COMP membership in 2025, and returned as a COMP member in 2026 has missed one full membership cycle.
